Outside-the-box thinking is an ideation form where designers freely discard common problem-solving methods to find the true nature of users' problems, falsify old assumptions and be innovative. Vital to the design thinking process, out-of-the-box thinking means reframing problems with a wider grasp of the design space.
Thinking outside the box is an idiom that refers to thinking in a creative and innovative way, often by looking at a problem from a different perspective. It is a metaphor for approaching problems and situations with an open mind and thinking unconventionally.
"Out of the box thinking" means to approach a problem or situation with a creative and unconventional mindset, looking beyond traditional or expected solutions by thinking differently and from new perspectives, often leading to innovative ideas.
Out-of-the-box or being creative is about solving a problem differently by not taking status-quo!
So what should one do to be creative?
I guess you need to start by understanding how to think laterally! If you do, you automatically end up getting solutions that are out-of-the-box!
If you need to start thinking creatively (or) laterally (or) out-of-the-box, more than anything, you need to understand your current dominant thinking approach, which is logical or left brain thinking.
Partly because of our education system and our life style.
Right from our school days to college, we are always trained to focus on test, grades rather than critical thinking. Almost all our curriculum focuses on logical thinking than critical thinking.
We are creatures of habit!
So we are happy doing the same thing as we did yesterday, be it having similar kind of breakfast more or less at the same time (or) taking the route to work or school. Left brain heavy?!

out-of-the-box thinking একটি প্রবাদ যা সৃজনশীল এবং উদ্ভাবনী উপায়ে চিন্তাভাবনাকে বোঝায়, প্রায়শই একটি ভিন্ন দৃষ্টিকোণ থেকে একটি সমস্যা দেখে । এটি একটি মুক্ত মন নিয়ে সমস্যা এবং পরিস্থিতির কাছে যাওয়া এবং অপ্রচলিতভাবে চিন্তা করার একটি রূপক।

out-of-the-box thinking অর্থ সৃজনশীল ভাবে চিন্তা করা। অর্থাৎ খাড়া ভাবে চিন্তা না করে আড়াআড়ি চিন্তা (Lateral Thinking) করতে হবে। আমরা খাড়া ভাবে চিন্তা করতে অভ্যস্ত যেটা সব সময় যুক্তিগ্রাহ্য।
আমাদের গতানুগতিক শিক্ষা ব্যবস্থা আমাদেরকে পরীক্ষা দেয়া এবং ভাল ফলাফল করার প্রচলিত পন্থা শিখিয়ে সব সমস্যা প্রচলিত নিয়মে সমাধান করতে শিখিয়েছে, কখনো প্রচলিত নিয়মের বাইরে চিন্তা করে সমস্যার সমাধান করতে শিখায়নি।
বলা বাহুল্য, আমরা সবাই অভ্যাসের দাস। অতএব, আমরা গত কাল যা করেছি এবং যে ভাবে সেটা করেছি সেটা সে ভাবে করতেই স্বাচ্ছন্দ্য বোধ করি। প্রতিদিন কম বেশী একই রকম নাস্তা খেয়ে দিন শুরু করে একই পথ ধরে স্কুল বা কাজে যেতে ভালবাসি। সমাজে যেটা প্রতিষ্ঠিত সেটাকেই সমর্থন করতে শিখি। গুণীজনেরা যেটা বলে সেটা মেনে নিই।
