Notch Arete is a slabby ramp, high up on the west face of Tryfan in the Glyderau and can be reached via several lower scrambles including Y Gully.

On the day I found the rocks grippy and I thoroughly enjoyed the climb.

Here I show you the route I took, the conditions I encountered and of course, my thoughts on the overall route and scramble.

I've done this scramble before and it could be the perfect step up for those that have done the nearby grade 1 North Ridge a few times and are looking to take on a more challenging grade 2 scramble in the same area.
