About:
Dr. Shriram Madhav Nene is a renowned cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon, healthcare innovator, and the husband of Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit. Born on February 11, 1966, in London to Indian immigrants, he was raised in the United States. He pursued his undergraduate studies and medical degree at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Following this, he completed a general surgery residency and a vascular research fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), and later a fellowship in cardiovascular and thoracic surgery at the University of Florida.
Dr. Nene practiced as a board-certified cardiovascular and thoracic surgeon in Denver, Colorado, specializing in mitral valve repair, endovascular aortic surgery, thoracic oncology, and robotic and minimally invasive surgical techniques.
In 1999, he married Madhuri Dixit, and the couple relocated to India in 2011. Together, they co-founded RnM Moving Pictures, a digital media and content creation company, and launched “Dance with Madhuri,” an online dance academy. Dr. Nene also founded Pathfinder Health Sciences, aiming to enhance healthcare delivery through technology and personalized health approaches.
Beyond his medical career, Dr. Nene is an avid sports enthusiast, engaging in activities like tennis, cross-country running, skiing, surfing, and mountain biking. He is also PADI open water dive certified.
Dr. Nene and Madhuri Dixit have two sons, Arin and Ryan. The family resides in Mumbai, where Dr. Nene continues to contribute to healthcare innovation and public health education.
