Constructing Cigar Box Guitar Necks

Описание к видео Constructing Cigar Box Guitar Necks

This video is the start of what I intend to be a series of demonstrations of how I build my cigar box guitar necks.

It normally requires 48 inches of 1x2 inch board to make a neck for my builds. First, I factor in 4 inches for the headstock, approximately 15-1/4 inches for the length of the finger (18 frets using a 23-inch scale length, 7-1/2 inches from the end of the fretboard to the bridge), and an additional 2-1/2 to 4 inches to allow for adjustment depending on the length of the box used. That leaves approximately 16-1/2 inches remaining to use for the heel. Subsequent videos will demonstrate how I notch the headstock, notch the neck for back angle, adjust the final neck length to the box, and attach the heel.

Clarification: the Arturo Fuente build with the scarf joint has 21 frets.
