Chiyaan Vikram is hail and healthy and is back to continue his work to entertain his fans.

He has teamed up with Pa Ranjith for his 61st film that the shooting of this film commenced today with Poojai.

Chiyaan Vikram, Pa Ranjith, GV Prakash Kumar, Arya, veteran actor Sivakumar, and KE Ganavelraja were spotted in the pooja of 'Chiyaan 61' and the film shooting begins today.

Vikram was spotted with long hair and an overgrown beard and it looks like he will be sporting this new thug look in this yet-to-be-named film tentatively called Chiyaan 61.

GV Prakash Kumar will be scoring the music, and the film is expected to be titled 'Maidhaanam'.

The makers have earlier confirmed that the film is a periodic action drama like 'KGF', and the shooting will happen in real locations of KGF.

The film will be shot in 3D. Interestingly, Pa Ranjith had narrated a script to Vikram back when he was directing 'Madras' itself.

Though they had planned to team up for a film then, it was delayed due to Pa Ranjith getting the opportunity to direct superstar Rajinikanth in two back-to-back films, 'Kabali' and 'Kaala'.

This film bankrolled by Studio Green also marks the first time collaboration of Vikram and Pa Ranjith.
