Here's my take on how to safely cross the invisible bridge and reach the Heretical Rise location. I reckon that this was the safest way by far, as each arrow illuminates the invisible path around it with a faint - but clearly visible - fog-like glow within the vicinity of the very slim path.

Prerequisites: Any bow with Rainbow Stone arrows (easily crafted)
Closest Site of Grace: Snow Valley Ruins Overlook (Mountaintops of the Giants)
Chest Drop: Founding Rain of Stars sorcery (Legendary Sorceries and Incantations achievement)

There are a lot of different ways to cross the invisible bridge to the Heretical Rise, some more painful than others. This video only describes the way I figured out doing so safely. Good luck.
