The worst kind of pain is when you’re smiling just to stop the tears from falling. There are only so many jokes, smiles you can fake, and lies you can tell before they finally catch up with you. After 27 years of being someone he wasn’t Richie Tozier finally broke and his act crumbled around him. Returning to Derry broke his illusion of the world he made for himself, Richie realized his regrets and shortcomings that haunted him beneath the wise cracks and endless laughter. This act is solely his own– finally unscripted by the companies and social ideals that defined his comedy, his lifestyle, and his feelings.

This CMV takes place after the events of IT: Chapter 2 where the losers have returned to their “regular” lives (if you can consider it regular after everything they experienced in Derry). Richie has been struggling with everything that happened after realizing how alone he’d felt after reuniting with the people that actually understood him, how much he’d hidden away about himself at a ditch at happiness, and most importantly dealing with what happened with Eddie.

Reuniting with what’s left of the loser’s club at one of Richie’s shows. They watch as Richie casts away his scripted performance revealing himself and his raw feelings up on stage as he reflects on everything they’ve been through. He’s hurting and his smiling can’t stop the tears from falling.

We told you it wouldn’t be a fix-it Reddie fic—if anything it’s a continuation of the throat clenching pain that you feel watching the last couple minutes of IT: Chapter 2. But we’re pretty happy with the turn out, Lily did a fantastic job of playing Richie’s character we couldn’t imagine anyone in this group doing a better job than her. She seriously deserves a round of applause for her performance plus another thank you to everyone else who played the Loser’s Club even if its a handful of scenes we all really helped make this CMV come to life.

Maybe our next IT CMV will actually feature Pennywise x’D Either way we really hope that you enjoyed and we hope you’re looking forward to everything else this channel as planned!
