Bruce Curley will present data from his article Cybersecurity is Everyone's Business – Protect Your Family, published in the April 2025 Journal of Civil Defense: America's Next War – Cyberspace. In his article, he stresses the urgent need for all Americans to take cybersecurity seriously, as both independent and state-sponsored cybercriminals relentlessly target individuals, businesses, and national infrastructure.

In his article, he also discusses the threats posed by social engineering scams, phishing, and cyberattacks from groups like China’s "50 Cent Army." The U.S. government acknowledges China's persistent cyber threats, warning that they could disrupt critical infrastructure as seen in past incidents, like the Colonial Pipeline hack.
