In the swamps of Amboseli, you may find the largest land mammals that exist today. You will find ferocious lions. You also find beautifully adorned squacco herons, dressed to the nines, looking quite unassuming with their tawny jackets and soft furry-feathers.

These well-dressed herons know how to hunt. They can quick spear and impale a fish, toss it around in their beak, and swallow it whole. We saw this heron do just that. The images reflect the nature of the environment of course and we were lucky to witness this, however, hopefully none of the images are too gruesome in nature.
