Howdy ya’ll, I recently took my boots to the grounds of Light’s Fort in Lebanon County, Pennsylvania. According to the narrative, Light’s Fort was founded in 1742, not only making it the oldest structure in Lebanon County, but also one of the oldest standing structures in all of Pennsylvania.

Furthermore, Light’s Fort, when first founded, was quickly developed, and most of the land within Lebanon City today was once within the property of Light’s Fort. The fortress itself is remarkable, constructed on top of an ancient hill that overlooks the city, and this location was rumored to have been very important to the indigenous people.

Adding fuel to this are the centuries of folklore, myth and legend stating that beneath Light’s Fort was a system of tunnels that ran throughout the hillside.
