Anna Faris and Chris Pratt split up after eight years of marriage
The House Bunny star and Guardians of the Galaxy actor have one son together
Anna Faris and Chris Pratt have filed for separation, according to statements posted on their official social media pages.

The couple has been married for eight years and have one son together - Jack, four.

Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris said: "Anna and I are sad to announce we are legally separating.

"We tried hard for a long time, and we're really disappointed.

"Our son has two parents who love him very much and for his sake we want to keep this situation as private as possible moving forward.

"We still have love for each other, will always cherish our time together and continue to have the deepest respect for one another."

The House Bunny star Anna added a similar statement on Twitter.

Chris and Anna married July 2009, having met on the set of Take Me Home Tonight in 2007.
Anna spoke about their relationship with PEOPLE last month, saying: “I don’t think that’s something, when you’re an actor, that you’re prepared for.

"There are two different roles that you play — the one on-camera and the one in public. That’s the tricky part.”

Their split comes a year after Chris announced he was taking a six month break from acting to focus on Anna and their son Jack.

He told Parade magazine: "I’ve been on the road for 14 months - I did three movies back to back to back - so I’m taking six months off."

"I’m taking Jack to Jack’s Beach - which is what we named the little stretch of beach on an island up on the San Juan Islands where we got a place.

"We’re going to go back to the fort we built about a month and a half ago when we went for a short visit and see if that’s still there. If not, we’re going to build it again.
