Scanning Film with a Digital Camera!!

Unless you have the cake to spend on a Drum Scanner - the next best options for scanning your film are a flatbed scanner OR... the digital camera you may already own!

In this video, RMSP Staff Instructor Jeff McLain demonstrates his process for getting a negative into Capture One Pro and then out to Photoshop. Then, he adjusts the tone and color back from its negative-state. There certainly are software programs that do this work for you, but Jeff likes the full-control that Photoshop provides in this process.

Once scanned the images are high-resolution enough for a great print, but at the very least it is a great way to get images scanned to be able to tell which ones are worthy of being sent out for drum scans!
