Biking to Burnaby Mountain | great beginner trails!

Описание к видео Biking to Burnaby Mountain | great beginner trails!

Hey everyone, a few weeks ago I headed over to Burnaby Mountain (you may know it as the place that SFU is on top of) to check out the forested trails and maybe dip my toes into some more technical, MTB-style riding.

As usual, the process of cycling through Burnaby is a bit hit or miss, but I feel like it keeps getting better each month with some trail, bike lane improvements and all of that good stuff.

I spent a bit of time looking at the maps online before heading out, but honestly once I got there I sort of roughly free-styled my route. For example, the 2nd portion of going up the mountain (I got stuck in a bit of mud) was actually only for going downhill. I didn't realize that until I had made it all the way to the top and could look back at the sign that says downhill only. (maybe I'm remembering this wrong because it sounds so silly, why would you not have a "downhill only" sign at the bottom where it would matter? 😂)

In addition, it seems like many of the trails (Trans Canada one at least) have signs say no e-bikes (in addition to no dirt bikes or ATVS... one of these is not like the other!).

I basically did the trails as normal, paying attention to my speed and being respectful of other trail users.

Overall it was a pretty good time. I definitely hope to be back now that I have figured out the area a bit more and can start discovering the other trails and continue working on my riding ability on more tricky terrain.

Have you been here before? Any suggestions or any questions for me?

Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next one!
