CINCINNATI (WKRC) - A study on having a baby raises concerns for some mothers after a C-section.

This study in the Canadian Medical Association Journal now finds an association in mothers 35 and up with a higher risk of maternal death, or dying after delivery, after a C-section. Specialists at the Cleveland Clinic that reviewed this study say researchers found this was true when compared to those who had a vaginal delivery.

The study also shows women who had C-sections during labor had better outcomes than women who had planned C-sections.

This is an association, which means that higher death rate could be due to the reason a woman might have a scheduled C-section. Some of those reasons may also be underlying medical conditions.
