The Nagoor #police have arrested Shashikant, a 39-year-old white criminal, who was involved in numerous crimes including fraud, forgery, intimidation, and extortion by posing as a senior government official. For the past several years, the accused had been deceiving the public by posing as an #IAS officer, sometimes as a Deputy #Commissioner of Mines, and sometimes as an IPS/NIA officer, thus defrauding innocent citizens of large sums of money.
Modus Operandi
Investigation revealed that the accused posed as a high-ranking public servant by:
Making and using fake #IAS/IPS/NIA identity cards, well-being cards, and forged documents. Hiring two bodyguards with weapons from Tamil Nadu.
Phoeung impersonated a senior #government official, even using a police siren and a walkie-talkie for his personal vehicle.
Imitate official communication.
Circulating fake #TSIIC industrial land allotment letters to defraud victims
Using these methods, the accused gained the trust of the complainant, All Hasan, Managing Director of #Gold Gym, and extorted a total of ₹10,50,465 through bank transactions, UPI payments, and cash, under the guise of securing industrial land acquisition and other government benefits. After receiving the money, the accused absconded.
Arrest and #Seizure
On 25-11-2025, acting on credible information, the Philli Nagas police launched a swift operation and arrested the accused from his temporary residence.
