This video is about how to end a New York conditional discharge. You know sometimes the big win in many New York criminal cases including a DWI is a CD aka the conditional discharge. But it is not like any other conditional discharge from any other state.

Most New York criminal and even non-criminal cases result in some form of conditional release, one of these is called the Conditional Discharge. We have done a series of videos explaining the CD, what it is, how it works, and what it is not.

A CD still allows you the liberty to move around and just maintain a specific set of terms and conditions. However, you can violate a CD and be subject to three years of misdemeanor probation (NOT a CD) on a criminal case means that you are stuck within the state of New York. You can move this probation within the 62 counties but what if you have business or a job opportunity or a girlfriend in another state or country?

You may be stuck in New York State for the duration of your misdemeanor probation, two or three years. You may be released after half the time has been done with good behavior but this is NOT a certainty. That is why setting a goal, and planning to obtain a CD is usually a good idea at the onset of any criminal case.
