Canon EOS 70D Camera Not Turning On?

My camera won't turn on. it's a Canon EOS 70D and it just stopped working altogether and didn't show any signs of life. There were no warnings or error messages. It just died.
Searching on YouTube for solutions none of them worked and in fact many of those videos were completely useless and dangerous.

Most videos mentioned messing with the micro switches in the battery compartment. Big mistake... huge in fact. These micro switches are super delicate and should not be touched at all.

Digital cameras are delicate and in many cases expensive pieces of equipment and need to be fixed by people who actually know what they are doing.
If you have a good quality camera and it stops working. My advise is to take it to a camera shop where you can get an assessment of how much it would cost to repair.

In our case we will have a virtually brand new Canon 70D for just £300 much cheaper than buying a new one and better than buying a used camera when you do not know it's history.

Lesson learned. Do your own research.
