Anatomy- the basic structure of an organism
Morphology- relationship of the organism and their structure

Plant morphology pertains to the vegetative structures and the reproductive structures.

Responsible for…
Absorbing water and minerals
Anchoring the plant allowing upright growth
Store food synthesized in leaves

Stems
Support leaves in a position to take the best advantage of sunlight

Meristem regions are sites of high cell division

Vascular Tissue
Two main components:

Xylem- Conducts water and dissolved nutrients from the roots to the upper portions of the plant.

Phloem- Conducting cells that transport sugar and other plant products up and down the structure of the plant.

Flowers- Reproductive organs that produce seeds that will become the next generation of plants.
