Hi there, GMC owners. Today, in your 2021 GMC Canyon, we're gonna be taking a look at and showing you how to install RVS's Blind Spot monitoring system. So, we've got our sensors installed. We're gonna go ahead and take it for a spin here and see what happens. So, first off, we're just gonna cruise through the parking lot real quick, just to see how they react when we're just driving by objects. We can see we've got some cars on both the left and the right there and you can see that the indicator lit up, when we drove by.

We didn't get any audible sound from it because we don't have a turn indicator on, we're not intending on changing lanes or going in that direction. So, there's no reason for it to give us an audible warning to let us know like, hey, pay attention before you do that. But it is illuminating letting us know that, hey, the detection system is detecting an object. So, we're just gonna swing back through there. It's not really where you make a turn.

And we've got a car on the right there and it beeped at us letting us know that that was in our detection range. Already go ahead and make another turn here. And again, it's beeping at us cause we have cars all on the right. A blind-spot monitoring system is designed to give us an extra warning for locations that we just don't have good visibility of. We do have side mirrors, rear view mirrors and we can turn our heads to look around but there's gonna be certain points where we're just gonna have the incorrect angle in our mirror of pillar in our way next to us that we're just not gonna potentially see the car that's right there next to us towards the back of our vehicle.

With a system like this, we're gonna get an audible warning as well as an indicator that's gonna let us know whenever we have vehicles near us so that we can appropriately change lanes safely. Now our customer has purchased this. She actually works here at etrailer and she is a bit of a shorter lady. And she does mention that she has some difficulty seeing out of the window sometimes due to that. So adding the system in for is gonna really help her out and ensure she can get to and from each other every day.

So we're sitting here now, I've got my right turn signal on with the vehicle next to us and you can hear that it's giving us the beep so we don't move. This chime is produced by a speaker that comes included with the kit. And on that speaker, it's gonna have three settings. You can turn it off if you just want the visible indicators that's installed, but you can also have a low or a high volume setting. We've currently got it on the high setting. So that way it's gonna definitely wake us up. We don't wanna be driving home maybe late at night where we're kind of drowsing off at the turn signal. We want it to wake us up so we're prepared. You'll receive two sensors and two indicators in your kit. These are for the rear on both the driver and passenger side is that's the most important spot 'cause that's where you're gonna have the most blind spots. You're also gonna receive all the wiring that you need to get everything installed. We'll begin our installation at the back of our vehicle by determining where we wanna put the sensors. If you read the instructions, they want you to put it within 50 to 150 millimeters from the rear. And that puts us at pretty much right here at the front of where our bumper is. And we can mount it anywhere we want, and this location back here, as long as we're at least 500 millimeters from the ground. And inches that's roughly two to six inches from the corner here's where our proper location should be. And at least 20 inches from the ground our truck sits up pretty high. So we don't have to worry about that height measurement with this one but we do need to make sure we really don't come past about where our bumper wraps around here. Cause that's would exceed the limits outlined in our instructions. And for that reason we are gonna be using our bumper instead of the actual body of the vehicle to Mount the sensor. We're gonna be putting it in the plastic right here at the front corner, because if we feel around the backside we can see that it's all plastic here. It's all open. So we shouldn't have any problem getting our sensor mounted up there. So I've gone ahead and marked one and a quarter inch down and one and a quarter inch over. We just d
