On paper, these two Kawai models are very similar. Both digital pianos use the Grand Feel III full length wooden-key action and therefore have the same sense of touch. Both have the same touchscreen display and interface (although the CA901 contains some extra features and sounds not on the CA701) and the same sound technology, Harmonic Imaging XL with acoustic rendering technology. One of the most common questions we receive about these two digital pianos concerns the central difference between these two models: Does the solid spruce wooden soundboard in the back of the Kawai CA901 really matter or is it just a gimmick?

We think the answer is pretty clear but prefer to leave it your own ears to decide!
