Many people know Samsung is the titanic and confusing business conglomerate in South Korea - known to be so dominant that some call the country the Republic of Samsung. But for many years the country’s economic development was not led by Samsung but instead its competitor Hyundai.

In this re-recorded video, we look at the true rags to riches story of Hyundai Group and its mythical founder Chung Ju Yung. We review the largest business lines in the Hyundai Group chaebol (conglomerate) and consider the broad government spending trends that the company rode to the very top.
