Should You Buy Vintage or Modern Rolex?

In today's video I am talking about if you should buy Vintage or Modern Rolex watches. In my humble opinion, there are many reasons to consider either side of this argument.

Buying vintage Rolex opens up a larger catalog of pieces includes discontinued Rolex watches such as the Datejust Turn-o-Graph or retired models of Explorer, Submariner, etc. With vintage, you loose out on modern features such as solid bracelets, on the fly adjustment, and better movements. An important question to ask is, "do modern Rolex watches have the same charm as vintage." I know thats something vintage watch buyers might question.

The other side of the coin is modern Rolex watches. Typically they may cost more but are sporting a higher quality that you cannot find on vintage pieces. Think about how far apart in quality a vintage Rolex Daytona is from the modern example. The Paul Newman doesn't stand a chance, at least by some metrics.

No matter what you pick, you are wearing a special watch, from a special brand.
