WWE 2K19 features a variety of different game modes, including a showcase mode focusing on Daniel Bryan's caree . This is the first showcase mode to be introduced in the series since the WWE 2K17 Hall of Fame Showcase DLC. Players take control of 11 different unique models of Daniel Bryan in 11 matches, as well as a secret 12th match, such as a fictional match against his former self at Wrestlemania 34 .

In MyPlayer Towers mode, wrestlers or created superstars can compete online or offline .

The MyCareer mode has been reimagined with a focus on a more linear storyline, in which the player-created character is an aspiring wrestler named Buzz who works his way up from the independent wrestling promotion BCW to WWE. Barron Blade, a fictional character from previous MyCareer modes, also returns and acts as the created player's coach .

The Road to Glory mode returns from previous installments, now with the option to join one of eight different faction
