The announcement date is finally here, after 3 years in the making. After being teased in Tennocon 2019. After the re-tease in Tennocon 2021. We have finally arrived at The New War. Launch Date? December 15th, 2021. A Wednesday.

Everything has culminated to this moment. Will we be able to save space mom? Or will we have to face our fears and focus on the larger threat beyond the stars? We got some funky trailer action of Nova using a never-before-seen version of her Nova Portal. Maybe we can convince DE to add that? DE teased that Operators and Amps are getting additions and changes with The New War, but this wasn't covered in the Devstream. Caliban is also a character directly pulled from Shakespeare's "The Tempest" play. Pray tell that Caliban will be deeply involved with the coming events of this war, the sole warrior to be truly half-Warframe, half-Sentient. The brainchild of Erra. He is most certainly going to be tied in to new Operator mechanics and thus I believe he will be a Story frame like Umbra, and unavailable from Shop.

Weapon's wise? We saw the Venato, a new Sentient-themed Scythe that seems to have high crit and status on a 27/24 split, with puncture emphasis. Who knows what unique perks it might have. The rumoured Sentient Bow was nowhere to be seen, but it's extremely likely there is more weaponry hidden away in this upcoming massive expansion.

We also got the showcase of Harrow Prime. Some small QoL boosts to all of his kit except his 4. Interestingly, his Shield boost on the Prime directly affects ability performance because his 2 scales off Warframe Shields. Scourge Prime is also featured, with slight stat bumps to base damage, reload and both crits & status. It is now crit viable, meaning you can build it for Hybrid. Scourge is already a monster, so I wonder what the Prime will do.

There is no Knell Prime in sight. Stay tuned, as Primes always drop with at least 2 weapons. You will need to own a Necramech and Railjack, as well as completed Prelude To The New War before you can begin The New War.
