Amb. Vikas Swarup is a retired Indian Foreign Service Officer who served as the Indian Ambassador to Canada and retired as Secretary (West) in the Ministry of External Affairs. He served as the official spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs from 2015 to 2017. Amb. Swarup joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1986 and served in various capacities at Indian diplomatic missions around the world. He is also an acclaimed author and his novel 'Q & A' was adapted in to the Oscar-winning movie Slumdog Millionaire.
