Jadukata is a hilly river with wonderful scenic beauty around. It is adjacent to the Khashia hilly range of Meghalaya. Small hills covered with green trees are the main attractions of this area. Lavish greenness throughout the whole area creates an unique experience. Jadukata River changes its flavor of beauty in different seasons of the year. During monsoon the water is blue and clear and you can see the river bed. This river has produced lot of brunches and joined with many canals and small rivers, but finally all of those joined with the great river Surma of Sunamganj. It is indeed a breathtaking destination for adventurous travelers.

Jadukata River is originated from the Meghalaya Hills of India & flows into Bangladesh. The river is very wide in the rainy season. If you visit in the winter, the mile long sandy bank will tell you about the fierceness of the river at rainy season. The color of the water is bluish. It’s very clear that you can almost see the river bed from the bank. You’ll find lot of large stones everywhere on the bank.

How to go there

You have to reach Tahirpur upazila from Sunamganj town. Jadukata River is only 10 km away from Tahirpur. If you want to hire motor bike, it will cost around 300 taka for two persons.

Where to stay

You can stay at Tahirpur or at Sunamganj. There are several hotels available at Sunamganj town. But at Tahirpur, you have to rely on the guest houses of Upazila Parishad and Dak Bungalow.
