War Dogs (2016) is an American crime comedy film based on a true story. The film follows two young men, David Packouz (played by Miles Teller) and Efraim Diveroli (played by Jonah Hill), who discover a massive opportunity in the loopholes of the U.S. government’s military contracting system and become arms dealers.
David, originally a struggling massage therapist, finds himself drawn into the high-risk world of illegal arms trading after meeting Efraim. The two quickly build a successful arms business, supplying weapons and equipment to the U.S. government for the Afghan war. However, as their business grows, they find themselves involved in illegal arms deals and the international arms market, eventually entangled in a web of corruption and criminal conspiracies within the government.
The film exposes the corruption, greed, and blurred moral boundaries in the modern war economy, exploring the price of wealth and success with humor and satire.
