This commando standing with Amit Shah is part of India’s most dangerous unit – the NSG Commandos. But how can you become an NSG Commando?

NSG, or National Security Guard, is a special forces unit in India that handles terrorist attacks and high-risk operations.

They are also known as Black Cat Commandos, and there are two ways to become one.

These two routes are:

Joining the Indian Armed Forces, or

Joining the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF)

There is no direct recruitment for NSG.
So, first you must become either a soldier or an officer in the Armed Forces or CAPF.

After serving for 3 years in the Armed Forces or 5 years in the CAPF, you can apply to join the NSG.

Once you apply for NSG, you’ll need to clear the NSG Selection Test.
Your age must be under 35 years at the time of applying.

If you pass the test, the final step is a 12 to 14-month NSG training.

This training is so intense that only 20% of candidates are able to complete it successfully.
Only after finishing this training do you officially become an NSG Commando.
