MetroTV, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, together with five other departments, has unveiled a new action plan aimed at boosting consumption and improving the alignment between consumer goods supply and market demand.

The Implementation Plan for Enhancing the Matching of Supply and Demand of Consumer Goods outlines major goals for 2027, including the formation of three trillion-yuan consumption sectors and ten consumption hotspots valued at over 100 billion yuan each. The plan also highlights the development of high-quality and culturally significant consumer products with global competitiveness.

By 2030, the plan targets a stronger contribution of consumption to national economic growth, supporting China’s long-term strategy for high-quality development driven by a positive cycle between supply and demand.
