On February 16th, 2025, Prakriti Lamsal, a Nepali student, was tragically found dead in her hostel room at KIIT University, Odisha, sending shockwaves through the campus.
What started as a festive atmosphere during the college’s annual fest soon turned into a nightmare.
Prakriti's death sparked accusations of foul play, as students uncovered disturbing details about her
past relationship with third-year student Advik Srivastava and harassment complaints she had filed against him just weeks before her death.

The situation worsened when authorities locked down the hostel, preventing students from leaving, and rumors spread about a cover-up.
Students, enraged by the apparent mishandling of the case, began protesting, demanding justice for Prakriti.

As the administration tried to control the narrative, students uncovered further discrepancies, such as the tampering of crime scene evidence and the questionable actions of college staff.
