Unboxing and Setting Up of the Urban Worm Bag v2 – outside on my Florida Patio!

And today, we shall start on an epic new journey together: my outdoor Urban Worm Bag v2! Will it survive and thrive on my Florida patio? I sure as heck hope so! I’ve done a lot of reading, watched a ton of videos, and feel pretty good we can keep this worm bag alive and well even through the heat of the Florida summer.

For those who missed it in the video: my new Urban Worm Bag v2 is outside, on my patio, which is mostly screened in (some holes where things can get through, but largely screened in). I have the worm bag set up in a spot that is shaded all but a few moments in the sunrise window of the start of each day.

I had been wanting to expand my wormington community for a while, and this seemed like a great next step to scale up with. Plus, new challenges, new location, and it’s a whole new system all together. I bought my Urban Worm Bag v2 directly from the Urban Worm Company. If you aren’t familiar with them, here’s their link:

I’m feeling optimistic about this set up, and hopeful that I can scale up the size of my feedings and the growth of the number of worms I’m taking care of. I still have plenty of food scraps I’m not able to feed the worms so here’s hoping that we can get closer with this set up.
