REMOVING BLADES ON A BEARCAT SC=3206 3" CHIPPER SHREDDER ECHO

Since I had never sharpened the blades and just upgraded to the 18HP Duramax XP18HPE, thpught it might ne a good idea to service them/
The chipper blades are bolted to the drum with 2 bolts. Te shredder blades are hold on by one screw per shaft. remove screw then use a punch to knock the axle out. This might be easier said than done. It helps to soak everything with penetrating oil a while before you get started. Note direction and order of assembly before removing knives.
Upon reassembly it won't hurt to coat axles with never-seize. Use new bolts and locknuts on axle bolts. Use red Loctite on chipper knife bolts.
If you are sharpening the knives, DO NOY PUT TOO MUCH HEAT INTO THEM.
