The recoil sim uses a "best fit" which helps show changes you have made using the weapon customizations like the vertical and angled foregrip attachments. However, this makes comparisons between weapons difficult, as the scale is not consistent. The recoil of the Knight and Reprimand appear similar in the recoil sim. However, when normalized for vertical and horizontal recoil, mag size, and RPM, it becomes very obvious that the Knight has a much better recoil, firing twice as many bullets while still having lower total recoil. This is because the maximum vertical recoil of the Knight is 18, while the Reprimand's is 48, allowing the Knight to continuously fire more than twice the number of shells while having less total recoil.

The "best fit" is based upon the greatest (most) amount of recoil possible for the weapon. Typically, this will be vertical recoil. Ensure weapon customizations are all tailored to make the vertical recoil as bad as possible, take screenshots or video. Divide the lower recoil by the higher recoil, then shrink the weapon with the lower recoil by that percentage. Overlay the Recoil sims at the "+" typically at the bottom of the sim.
