Yo M'enamori D'un Aire, Traditional Sephardic Song Performed on Medieval Gittern

Описание к видео Yo M'enamori D'un Aire, Traditional Sephardic Song Performed on Medieval Gittern

From the medieval Sephardic Jewish tradition, here is a love song, Yo m'enamori d'un aire (I fell in love with the charms). The words are in Ladino, the language of the Jews in medieval Spain. Can't place the original century, but certainly the gittern was being played in Spain at the time of the Cantigas de Santa Maria, long before the Inquisition and expulsion. Setting found in Al Cofrin's "Medieval songs and dances of 11th-14th C Europe vol. 2".

Performed by Daniel Shoskes on a 5 course medieval gittern built by George Stevens.
