Dr David Penberthy is a medical doctor, a board-certified Radiation Oncologist with extensive experience in various technologically sophisticated treatments, including Gamma Knife and linear accelerator-based radiosurgery, brachytherapy, external beam radiotherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals. Currently holding the position of Program Director at the University of Virginia Department of Radiation Oncology, he also served as the President of ACCC from 2022 to 2023. Prior to his current role, he held the position of Medical Director of Radiation Oncology at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center, Penn State Health. Additionally, he was a Partner and Past President at Virginia Radiation Oncology Associates, Inc., and served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees at Bon Secours Southside Medical Center. His career also includes service in the US Navy as a Flight Surgeon with VF-101 in Oceana, Virginia. He possesses strong leadership and management skills, with a particular focus on new business development.
