"The Maid of Llanwellyn" Welsh folk song on Celtic harp

In 2019 I was blessed with the gift of this beautiful harp made by my Zen Mountain Poets band mate Mike Flactiff! Since it was given to me, I had to learn how to play it! ;) With help from my wonderful teacher Joselyn Sky (follow her here:    / @joselynsky  ) and a lot of practice, I'm starting to feel comfortable enough to share my harp playing, even just as a beginner.

I learned this version of "The Maid of Llanwellyn" from a collection of Celtic Harp Songs sheet music by Star Edwards. Playing the music of my ancestors has been a deep and rewarding process. I love having these songs in my head!

I enjoy how the birds are singing with me in this video, but I got cut off before the second time playing it by the sound of a loud truck passing by! The joys and trials of filming outdoors... ;) Springtime on the Central Coast is delightful!
