Nero’s birthplace Antium: seaside villa and artificial port

Описание к видео Nero’s birthplace Antium: seaside villa and artificial port

Seaside Antium, less than 40 miles from Rome, was the birthplace of emperors Caligula and Nero. Nero celebrated his birthplace by building over the Augustan villa to make a massive domicile, akin to his Domus Aurea in Rome, stretching 800 meters across cliffs overlooking the sea. We'll examine the ruins atop the cliffs as well as from down below on the beach. Nero also created a massive 1/2 mile wide artificial port, the remains of which we can view from the beach and the air!
