How to Install a Smash and Grab on a Vehicle

Tools you will need to Install a Smash and Grab:
• Lint Free Cloth
• 3M Gold Card
• Pro Blade With Channel 6″
• Olfa Stainless Steel Blades
• Black Gator Blade
• Unger Pro Squeegee Handle
• Blue Max (Beveled Blade)
• Olfa SVR-1 Silver Knife
• Paper Towel
• Spray Bottle (with Soapy Solution)
• Heat Gun
• 100 Micron Safety Film

Instructions

Step 1
Cut a template of each window’s size,

Step 2
Prepare the body of the vehicle by spraying soapy solution on the surface area that you will be sticking the Safety Film onto, and scrap off any dirt or unwanted residue, of the window using the Black Gator Blade.

Step 3
Use Unger Pro Squeegee Handle with the Pro Blade with Channel 6″ to squeegee the glass clean.

Step 4
Spray only the bottom of the glass with the soapy solution, wind the down by 2 inches, and wipe the ends of the window using the paper towel once complete. Spray the entire surface of the glass.

Step 5
This step requires additional assistance*
With the help of an assistant remove the safety film from the backing sheet gently, once removed, spray the safety film generously with soapy solution.

Step 6
Place the safety film on the surface area and align it, accordingly, making sure that the safety film covers the entire window from end to end.

Step 7
Use the Blue Max and the Unger Pro Squeegee Handle to remove all the excess soapy solution from the safety film, use the Olfa svr1 knife to cut off any excess safety film.

Step 8
Use the Blue Max and the Unger Pro Squeegee Handle again to remove any more excess soapy solution from the safety film, use the 3M Gold Card to stick the ends of the safety film firmly onto the window.

Step 9
Wind the window up and use the Blue Max and the Unger Pro Squeegee Handle to remove all the excess soapy solution from the safety film, then use the 3M Gold Card to stick the ends of the safety film firmly onto the window.

Step 10
Use the heat gun and the 3M Gold Card to release any bubbles from the safety film, gently remove by pressing the 3M Gold Card firmly against the window.

Step 11
Spray the lint free cloth with the soapy solution and wipe the top of the safety film dry. Check the glass one more time for any air bubbles.

Step 12
Repeat this process for the other 5 windows.
