Xiaomi, renowned for revolutionizing the tech world, is making a big leap into the electric vehicle market. After the overwhelming success of its SU7 model, which sold over 100,000 units in just a few months, the company is ready to launch its next major contender – the YU7. This electric SUV is set to take the automotive world by storm, offering a sleek, high-performance alternative to established players like Tesla.

Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that the YU7 will be launching next year, and it’s already generating buzz thanks to its Ferrari Purosangue-inspired design. While official renderings of the vehicle were released earlier this month, seeing the YU7 on the streets of China in its prototype form is a whole different experience. With no camouflage to hide its design, the YU7 was spotted cruising through urban areas, giving us an up-close look at how this electric SUV will look in the real world.

Although the design is familiar from the earlier images, it’s incredible to see the YU7 in action, showcasing its clean lines and luxurious proportions. With a length of 4,999 mm, a width of 1,996 mm, and a height of 1,600 mm, the YU7 is a large and imposing presence on the road, perfectly combining sleekness with an athletic stance. Xiaomi’s design inspiration from Ferrari is clear, offering a blend of sports car dynamics in a family SUV package.

The YU7 is expected to be priced between CNY 300,000 (€36,900) and CNY 400,000 (€49,600), making it a direct competitor to Tesla’s Model Y. Xiaomi aims to deliver not just style but power as well. The dual-motor version of the YU7 will generate an impressive 508 kW (691 hp), allowing it to reach a top speed of 253 km/h. Even the base version comes equipped with a large battery and advanced LiDAR technology for enhanced autonomous driving capabilities.

Xiaomi is setting its sights high with the YU7, with a rumored official launch slated for mid-2025. This electric SUV is not just about technology – it’s about redefining the future of EVs by offering a combination of performance, luxury, and cutting-edge features at an attractive price point.
