Our 3rd video of (PFW) is a great opportunity to see the sites of Paris and continue learning about new emerging designers you may not have heard of before. You'll get to see the Louvre Museum, Tuileries Gardens, Pont Alexandre III, Eiffel Tower and Place Vendome.
We answer some questions about PFW. PFW is where all of Europe comes & also some United States (New York City/NYC especially). NYFW & PFW are the biggest fashion weeks for market appointments where you place the buy and get to see the collection in person. That is a great time to further establish relationships with designers. The Style That Binds Us team can be your eyes & ears in these countries bringing you new brands, but we want to make sure we know all about the brand & their story, have met the team and seen the pieces in person.
Breakdown of the fashion weeks -
NYFW is filled with fashion shows, presentations, after parties and market appointments
LFW is a bit smaller, lots of shows, but not many market appointments, because those would happen in Paris
MFW is mostly presentations & runway shows and a couple of market appointments
PFW is the ultimate finale with LOTS of market appointments, shows & presentations
One thing we love about this month is getting to go into places we normally wouldn't if only visiting the city for the presentation, show & market appointment locations. They are all spread out over these cities, so it is a great way to see the city.
It was interesting coming to Paris as a working trip instead of on vacation, because we have really only seen the sites by car. Some of our favorite spots in the past were: Musee D'Orsay & Versailles, for example.
The typical Parisian woman moves at a slower pace than women in the US, she is more deliberate and serious about things. Her self-care is more private. Their uniform is the skinny jean, black pump or a kitten heel, leather jacket, t-shirt, scarf, sunglasses and red lipstick.

We had a market appointment with Beau Souci and met with the designer Aurélie Larrousse. The Spring Summer 2019 collection would be perfect for a honeymoon wardrobe. It has just enough print & color and it isn't too loud.
We loved meeting with Camille Omerin of Maison Pere. She enjoys flee markets, reupholstering furniture, vintage pieces & interior decorating. Before launching her line, she worked at Balmain, Lanvin, Chanel and Chloe.
We had an appointment with the jewelry line Gaya de Garnazelle & Garnazelle.
We also had an appointment with Emilia Wickstead. She was born in New Zealand & is based in London. The pieces are really feminine. Kate Middleton has worn her pieces. She is known for fairytale dressing and has lots of dramatic dresses in bold colors. For example, a red carpet look with a large bow at the back. She is introducing shoes, which she worked with Charlotte Olympia on.
We had a breakfast meeting with an Amsterdam-based brand, Tos Gallery.
We went to dinner at Beaumarly, which is in the arches of the Louvre. Not only does it have a fantastic view, it also has delicious food.
The next day, we had a market appointment with Whit, before heading to grab coffee at Cafe Charlot. A husband-and-wife duo are the creators of Whit and the husband is an artist. He designs the prints and she designs the clothes.
