It was a good friend’s first time doing a hike so I suggested a manageable route that my daughter and I did last December starting from Venus Drive Car Park. From there, we walked along the path into the forest and when we reached a fork in the road, where there were signs showing us to Venus Loop or Squirrel/Drongo Trail, we took the latter. After the Drongo trail, part of which is parallel to the road leading to the Island Country Club, we reached another fork in the road. The paths either lead to the Tree Top Walk or the Macritchie Reservoir Park. We took the latter as we wanted to walk along the Petai and Prunus Boardwalk to enjoy the view of the reservoirs. Do watch out for the sign to Petai Boardwalk after walking much of the route in the forest. We ended our walk at the Macritchie main entrance. The route took us less than two hours.
