This session discussed the crucial issues in developing countries - economic growth, sustainability, agriculture, attracting talent - are underpinned by science and technology development. As such, science diplomacy takes on a notable role: first, to increase their influence and input into global issues, and second, to build connective links with other nations. As developing countries begin to embrace science diplomacy, a new perspective emerges reflecting the Global South’s specific history and particular needs. How does the developing world, in its complexity, view science diplomacy? Why is science diplomacy important in Africa and Latin America?
