The Prague Pride Festival has been held annually in August since 2011. Nowadays, it is one of the most significant cultural events in the Czech Republic.
The first edition of the Prague Pride festival took place in 2011. Before that, Pride Parades had already been held in several other cities in the Czech Republic, but no lasting tradition had been established. Prague Pride was about to change that. The first edition, a classic parade, was attended by about 8,000 people. Attendance has been increasing since then, rising to a pre-COVID-19 high of 40,000 people in the Saturday parade, with a total weekly attendance of about 90,000, the accompanying events included.
The Prague Pride Festival does not consist of only the parade through the city. It lasts an entire week, from Monday to Sunday, and 150 events occur. The rainbow-coloured Pride Parade across Prague is its Saturday culmination. In 2020, we replaced the parade with a Rainbow Cruise to comply with the preventive anti-epidemic measures. However, in 2022, the train will return to the streets of Prague once again. Among the festival's classics are lectures and discussions, film screenings, theatre and dance performances, talk shows, sporting events, spiritual meetings, and entertainment in the form of concerts, parties, or picnics.

Národní, formerly Národní třída, is one of the important avenues in Prague, Czech Republic. It is placed on the boundary of New Town and Old Town, in the southwest direction from the city's center. This avenue connects Legion Bridge bridge with Jungmannovo náměstí. In medieval times, there were fortification walls. On Friday, 17 November 1989, riot police violently suppressed a peaceful student demonstration, which is thought of as the initiation of the Velvet Revolution. Národní třída continued to be an eventful locale during the rest of the revolution.

Wenceslas Square (Václavské náměstí)
This square is the commercial and administrative centre of the city and the site of important social and historical events. You'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centres here. The Square was created during the founding of the New Town by Charles IV in 1348. Today, it is dominated by the National Museum (1885 – 1891) and Josef Václav Myslbek's statue of the national patron, St Wenceslas, from 1912.
