Описание к видео How To Get A Faster Tax Refund This Year

Many experts are saying to expect huge delays when it comes to your tax refund this year, and for good reason. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) is already saying that the process may run at a turtle's pace once tax season opens on January 24th, partly due to the pandemic."Planning for the nation's filing season process is a massive undertaking, and IRS teams have been working non-stop these past several months to prepare," said IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig in a January 10, 2022 press release. "The pandemic continues to create challenges, but the IRS reminds people there are important steps they can take to help ensure their tax return and refund don't face processing delays. In addition to facing delays, you may also run into roadblocks if you need to call the IRS to ask questions about filing your taxes, or if you want to check the status of your refund. The IRS is already saying you may not be able to get through on the phone, or that you'll face long wait times even when you do."Our phone volumes continue to remain at record-setting levels," Rettig said. "We urge people to check IRS.gov and establish an online account to help them access information more quickly. We have invested in developing new online capacities to make this a quick and easy way for taxpayers to get the information they need."Here's the good news: You may be able to expedite your refund, or at least avoid serious delays, by following a few simple steps right off the bat. We interviewed tax experts and CPAs to find out their tips for getting your treasured tax dollars back sooner rather than later, and here's what they said. The IRS says the IRS Free File option was slated to open on January 14th, 2022, so there's already a pathway to get started. Dr. Jennifer F. Bolden, who is Director of Accounting Programs at Brenau University, says the best way to get a tax refund asap involves filing early before the IRS system is bombarded with other returns. While employers are required to send W-2 forms by January 31st, many send them out earlier. And if you have what you need, why delay filing?"File your return as soon as you have received all required forms to complete it," says Bolden. "Processing of returns and payment of refunds occur a lot faster when the volume is lower."One of the biggest roadblocks to a fast tax refund comes into play when you make errors on your return, and when you actually submit it that way. Joshua Zimmelman of Westwood Tax & Consulting underscores how important it is to double and triple check your return before you hit the "submit" button."Make sure that all of the information you’ve provided on your return is completely accurate and nothing is missing," he says. "That goes for everything from your total income to your current address.'Zimmelman says that any error, no matter how small, could lead to a time-consuming manual review or even an audit.
