John Deere 1023E Scheduled Maintenance Today in the Shop

We've got a low hour & clean John Deere 1023e Sub-Compact Tractor in the shop today. This is a 2013 model with 154 hours on the clock. Powered by a Yanmar Diesel, the last time the oil was changed is unknown. Its time to ensure this tractor has long life getting it onto a regular maintenance schedule.

Do you have any concerns about today's work?
No concerns today! We look forward to knowing this tractor has a fresh filter and oil and hopefully many smooth hours of service to come. This is a clean tractor from 2013. It would be a shame to see the motor wear out prematurely due to lack of maintenance.

Why did you decide to do this?
We are doing this because we purchased this tractor without any previous maintenance records. We'll feel confident running this once the fluids are changed.

Would you recommend this tractor?
Yes, absolutely! Awesome machine for the money. It appears the prices might currently be appreciating rather than the normal depreciation. From the sales we've seen, these sub-compact tractors hold their value very well.

What's your favorite thing about this tractor?
Simple, compact, yet versatile and able to handle medium duty service work (in our opinion).

What would you improve, if anything?
We would like to see more weight on the front and back of this tractor. In time, we would like to add weights to the front and attach a snow blower in the winter for maximum weight and distribution for that specific service need.

What's coming to the shop in the future?
We've got a Polaris 600 twin Sportsman coming into the shop for tires and a tune up service. It hasn't been ride worthy for several years. It's it's time to shine again.

Are you able to do lots of work in a limited space?
Yes, without question. The biggest issues I face in our 2 stall garage is organization. Keeping the workspace organized and both stalls clear of clutter really helps with motivation, which then helps with productivity. Basically, if I see a clean workspace, I'm much more ready to dive into a project or even just scheduled maintenance like today's oil change.
