MetroRapid Silver Line - Uptown Houston Texas

Introducing the new MetroRapid Silver Line on Post Oak Boulevard - Uptown Houston Texas!
The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Houston, Texas recently unveiled their newest addition to the fleet, the MetroRapid Silver Line. The MetroRapid Silver Line utilizes BRT technology. BRT stands for Bus Rapid Transit. BRT operates much like a light rail system in that it runs on a dedicated at grade right of way in the middle of a public thoroughfare (Post Oak Boulevard). Each vehicle has multiple doors on both sides of the vehicle. Stops (Stations) are much like the MetroRail system in that each station platform is elevated making MetroRapid busses 100% accessible to ALL passengers. The doors on the MetroRapid busses are wider than their counterparts.

The Metro Transit Authority of Houston plans to expand BRT technology throughout the city, The Silver Line is the very first of its kind in the city.

I filmed this experience on a Northbound bus starting at the southern terminus - Westpark Transit Center ending at the northern terminus - Northwest Transit Center.
