Nick Nelson Series Part 4 1964 Peterbilt

My good friend Nick Nelson introduces us to the the family’s 1964 Peterbilt 351 Narrow Nose. Powered by a 220 Cummins backed by 9 forward gears, this aluminum framed truck is believed to have been an Alaskan logging truck in its past life. (The archeological digging continues into it’s vast history) It wears Wyoming tags and has side covers missing from it’s iconic butterfly hood; which personally I find adds a gritty romance to it. The shutters on the grille once wore a green and white “hourglass” design many years ago along with a healthy dose of chrome on the exterior. The cab is a time capsule into the masculine mid 60’s and boasts the coolest driver’s seat I’ve ever sat in.

No doubt Nick’s sons will be stepping up to help keep this heirloom ready for the next generation to appreciate the simplicity and ruggedness of the American Peterbilt.
