We Belong

There was a time when I was needed

I’m not feeling it anymore

I have ideas and understandings

I think about as I scrub the floor

I don’t mop as others do

I’m still stuck in some things old

Many ways

I am oh so bold



Want to help be there as I can

Unsure where I am wanted

Yet know where I stand



Standing tall and proud is easier said than done

When I feel so small under the stars and sun

I’m learning again what is important here

Respect for one another sharing another year



Cause we only have this moment to write our own text

Loving each other when

We don’t know what will happen next

Giving and receiving have to balance out

It’s easier to be needed Than to Need
