Effluent Treatment Plant or #etp is one type of wastewater treatment method that is particularly designed to purify industrial wastewater for its reuse and its aim is to release safe water to the environment from the harmful effects caused by the effluent.

Industrial effluents contain various materials, depending on the industry. Some effluents contain oils and grease, and some contain toxic materials (e.g., cyanide). Effluents from food and beverage factories contain degradable organic pollutants. Since industrial wastewater contains a diversity of impurities and therefore specific treatment technology called ETP is required.
Biological ETP: Biological treatment is an important and integral part of any wastewater treatment plant that treats wastewater from either municipality or industry having soluble organic impurities or a mix of the two types of wastewater sources.
MBR ETP: It employs a combination of microorganisms and filtration membranes to remove organic matter, nutrients, and pathogens from wastewater. The heart of the MBR system is the membrane module, which acts as a physical barrier, separating solids and microorganisms from the treated water.
ZLD: ZLD technology includes pre-treatment and evaporation of the industrial effluent until the dissolved solids precipitate as crystals. These crystals are removed and dewatered with a filter press or a centrifuge. The water vapor from evaporation is condensed and returned to the process.
