Unboxing a Mullard ECH 21 triode heptode frequency changer vacuum tube. This valve is used & is not in its original box. The valve base is a Loctal-8-Pin B8G. The clear glass envelope has the Mullard logo, ECH21, BVA logo & Made In Holland printed on it in white. The metal base has Yk & LM+ stamped around the bottom. Printed on a green label is PAYNE & HORNSBY LTD., 19 JUL 1957 & If this article proves faulty it can only be returned to makers if this label is intact. Printed on one end of the box id ECH21 & handwritten is Mull.

There are no other details for PAYNE & HORNSBY LTD on the green label but there are several articles & references to a Payne and Hornsby Ltd at 3 Andrews House, Gallowgate, Newcastle -on -Tyne (see links below) https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/lifes...

The type ECH21 was first introduced in 1941 & the heater filament voltage requirement is 6.3 volts. .
